Mia
Mia has quite a story! Born to a very sick mama cat at a high-kill LA shelter, she was only one of two kittens in a litter of six to survive. As the runt of the litter, Mia has always been very small for her age. Mia is a spritely, sweet, silly, and playful kitten who loves to watch TV, snuggle, and play with her kitty companions.
She’s a normal kitten, except for a host of ongoing medical problems. She has always had an upper respiratory issue, which after a PCR test, we finally discovered was mycoplasma. This virus is notoriously hard to knock out, so Mia has been on antibiotics for several months.
Mia’s biggest challenge, however, is an ongoing seizure disorder, which we think is mostly likely epilepsy; a rarity in young kittens. We have done lots of testing to determine the cause of her seizures, but so far, we have not been able to find it.
Currently, Mia is on four different medications to keep her seizures under control. In spite of this, Mia is living thriving! She loves to race around the house with her buddies, chase the laser light, nap in the sunshine, and groom her best buddy, Boo. She never hesitates to take a big bite out of life!
The one thing Mia needs more than anything is sponsors to help pay for her medications and regular vet visit check-ups, which runs over $200 a month. We think she's worth every cent of it! Please consider being Mia's angel sponsor. Thank you!
