Marvin the Martian
Hi, humans!! My name is Marvin the Martian, and I was just a young kitten when I came to Milo’s. I was
first brought to a place some humans called a “high-kill shelter”. I don’t know what that means, but I
could tell it wasn’t a happy place. Lucky for me, a human volunteering at that shelter noticed that my
head had a funny shape to it, and she contacted Milo’s.
That human was sharp, because it turns out I had something called “hydrocephalus” (or what some humans call “water on the brain”). It means that fluid builds up in my head and puts a lot of pressure on my brain. So, there’s good news and bad news about that: the bad news is that most cats with hydrocephalus don’t live very long. The good news is that the folks at Milo’s don’t give up easily! They took me to see a brain doctor, or what they call a veterinary neurologist, who started me on special medicine I have to get every day that keeps the fluid in my brain from building up. Well, guess what? It’s been four years, and I’m still doing great! I’m glad that Milo’s took a chance on me because I get to do something very important here: I get to help with the babies! I make friends with the new kittens that arrive and help them learn how to “cat”. It’s an awesome job, and when
I’m not doing that, I’m playing with my other cat friends, napping, or eating! Pretty cool for a cat who wasn’t expected to grow up, huh?
My treatment and neurology visits cost a lot, so I’d be humbled if you would sponsor me to help with the cost of my medicine and special brain doctor. You can sponsor me by clicking the link below!
