Julius
Looking at Julius today, it is hard to believe how small and vulnerable he was when he came to Milo’s. As a tiny young kitten, he was saved from certain death at a high-kill shelter by another rescue. The reason for his impending euthanasia? Julius was born blind, a trait that we know is quite easily navigated and adapted to, but is all too often an automatic death sentence at many kill shelters. Julius was starting to experience eye infections and irritation. The other rescue wasn’t equipped to provide the care he would need to thrive and grow, so we gladly took this lovely little man!
Due to the chronic nature of his eye infections, we had Julius’ eyes sealed shut. This procedure prevented any further infections and stopped the pain that this was causing him, and from then on, Julius was able to really blossom into the active, playful ball of fur he is today. Despite his blindness, Julius plays with toys and can “mouse” with the best of them! He is a happy boy who loves to play and snuggle with his fellow cats at the Sanctuary. Julius walks about confidently with his tail held high, proudly sporting an impressive display of furry plumage!
