Jack Bubblewink
Jack Bubblewink came to us all the way from Egypt. When we were contacted by Safe Haven Egypt, they had originally sent us a photo of a badly injured little blind girl. Sadly, she passed away before being able to make the trip here to the USA. They asked us if we would take Jack instead and we readily agreed.
We aren’t sure what happened to Jack, but he had suffered grievous injuries to his jaw and ears. We believe that he was struck and dragged by a car. In Egypt, they do not have the specialists that we are lucky enough to have in the USA and they knew Jack’s only chance was here in the States.
Jack flew over with a wonderful flight parent and she delivered him safely to the President of Milo’s Sanctuary, who took him straight to our specialist. Unfortunately, Jack had come down with a cat cold, so he was treated for that as well as undergoing a biopsy on his jaw, where it was discovered he had a bone infection. So, more medications and waiting. Through it all, Jack was a champ. He loved his caretakers and was always so happy to see them coming with “kitty soup” that was made especially for him as all he could do was lap up food.
Finally, he underwent a six hour surgery to fix his jaw. Thanks to our amazing surgeon, Jack came through it with flying colors. Even though Jack’s jaw is still a little crooked and his bottom teeth stick out at an odd angle, he is no longer in pain and is happily starting to eat regular wet cat food.
We do not know if Jack will require further surgeries, but for now we know he’s a happy, gentle boy who is so relieved to be safe, full, loved and no longer in pain.
We would be so grateful if you would consider sponsoring Jack in our Lifetime Care Program so he will always have all the care, food, and veterinary care he will need.
