Ivy
Ivy was a small, blind kitten living in a local shelter after someone found her wandering on the streets. Someone found out that she was in a shelter and sent us an email asking if we could help. We contacted the shelter and were told that she was being adopted by one of their staff members. We couldn’t have been happier for little Ivy.
A year later, we received a call from the shelter asking if we could still take Ivy. The staff member that had adopted Ivy had sadly passed away from brain cancer and no one in the family would take this little blind girl. We happily accepted Ivy into our Lifetime Care program.
When we got little Ivy, we discovered that not only was she completely blind, but had very bad stomatitis (stomatitis is an auto-immune issue that affects the gums and is very painful), and she was a Munchkin, which is a breed of cat. We are currently treating her stomatitis with both homeopathic and traditional treatments in order to avoid removing all her teeth (she’s only 2 years old). Also her eyes (she is completely blind) are prone to infections, so we are discussing removing them with our vets.
Ivy is a very playful little girl who loves her food, treats, and most of all, her little toy mouse!
By sponsoring Ivy, we will be able to continue her mouth and eye treatments and ensure she lives a high quality life with lots of medical care, love and, of course, her favorite toy mouse!!
