Bear
Sweet Bear was rescued at only 7 days old, found on a street by a kind person who took him in and bottle-fed him. At 4 weeks old, his human mom knew something was different about this little guy and took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. A kitten is born with “CH” when her/his cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls fine motor skills and coordination, is underdeveloped at birth. The life expectancy is the same as cats without CH and since the condition is non-progressive, it will never get worse. As many people are still learning about this condition, and because some shelters don’t adopt out special needs animals, many kitties with CH are needlessly euthanized every year. You can read more about this condition here.
Herman’s (our other severe CH cat) incredible Lifetime Care family decided that Herman needed a little brother, so they agreed to be Bear’s new Lifetime Care Fosters. We couldn’t be happier as Bear and Herman require a lot of work due to the severity of the CH. Their foster Mom and Dad constantly tell us that they are worth every second of it; they are two of the sweetest boys around!
Please help Bear always get all the medical care, diet, supplies and anything else he will need for the remainder of his life by becoming his Lifetime Care Sponsor!
