Opal Moonstone

Picture
Dearest Opal Moonstone was abandoned in a high kill shelter when her humans moved and didn’t want to take her with them. She was so afraid and unsure, and we can understand why; shelters are scary to begin with, and being blind only added to her fear.

We received an email from a wonderful shelter volunteer letting us know about Opal and her story. We knew Opal wouldn’t have much time as the shelter was full and she was blind, scared, and withdrawn. On her last day, we had her pulled from the shelter and transported to our veterinarians for a full health checkup.

Our veterinarians determined she was almost completely blind due to scaring on her eyes, probably from untreated eye infections. Although she doesn’t see well, once she was safe and loved, she quickly came out of her shell. Now in a Lifetime Care Foster home, she is now a loving, friendly, and gentle girl who is beginning to understand that not all humans are bad. Opal now knows that there is much love, friendship, joy, toys, and good food to be found in the care of Milo’s and her Lifetime Care Fosters.

Opal would love to have you sponsor her so she knows only happiness for the remainder of her life.
