Hey ‘der!
My name is Bumble Sirenwhisker but you can just call me Bumble. My silly human mom gives me lots of nicknames like Bumble Butt or Rumble Bumble, I often wonder if humans give each other nicknames or their animals?
Sorry, my mind does that sometimes, it just wanders off and I forget what I’m doing. So, my story, I’m not quite sure how I got to Mama Michele’s and Milo’s Sanctuary but I did. I heard someone say I came from another wonderful rescue but they knew they couldn’t give me the care I needed so they gave me to Milo’s.
I was super tiny when I came here maybe 4-5 weeks old, I was so scared and lonely and my head hurt all the time it made me dizzy and my eyes hurt all the time too. Mama Michele took me to a, I think they called him a neurologist, whatever that is. He told us that I had severe hydrocephalus and my eyes hurt because I was born with entropion. They used big words and I was just a baby and not feeling well.
The veterinarian told me he was going to drain “fluid” from my head, I was very brave and felt better almost immediately. He told me I had to grow big and strong so he could put a “shunt” in and that my head wouldn’t hurt at all anymore.
I focused on growing and even though there were a couple times we had to go back to the doctor person to drain fluid, I grew big enough to have a “procedure” and now I have a shunt which must be monitored by my human mama. Recently I also had a procedure on my eyes and now they don’t hurt anymore and I can see so much better.
I take daily medications like my BFF Birdie and then we go off and play together or take a nap. She’s a good friend.
So, that’s my story. I thank you for reading it and maybe you would consider sponsoring me to make sure I always get my medications and vet visits.
Thank you and lots of love,
Bumble Sirenwhisker
