Bagherra

Picture
Bagheera is about as cute as any cat EVER! This tiny boy came to us from a horrible hoarding/inbreeding situation as a very, very sick tiny kitten.

He was diagnosed at 3 months old with megacolon (something very rare in young animals) in order for him have surgery to fix his messed up colon we had to be big and strong enough for this long and potentially dangerous procedure.

We went through months of him having enemas, eating a special diet, not eating, having to be force fed and then catching a very bad cat cold where he spent a week in an oxygen tank. We never gave up because Bagheera never gave up.

Bagheera got strong and big enough to undergo the procedure (4 hours) and he came out like the champ he is. He healed quickly and thanks to his amazing surgeons has a great quality of life now.

He is a tiny fellow 1 year old and weighs in at a whopping 4lbs. He’s about the size of a 3 month old kitten and that’s as big as he’s going to get. But his size doesn’t stop him from doing all things cat and we love to watch him waddle around (he waddles as his legs are so short) and attack his toys, play with his friends and be comfortable now that he’s having normal bowel movements (we know TMI).

Bagheera is super sweet and gentle and loves more than anything to be brushed and cuddled. He does have ongoing conditions including a cat cold that recurs so he is on and off antibiotics, antivirals and has to have a special diet to make sure he keeps things moving well.

Please consider sponsoring our little boy so that we can continue to give him all he needs for the rest of his life.
