NUALA

Nuala was brought to us by a wonderful woman who rescued her from someone in Las Vegas. Nuala had a story that broke our hearts. This little angel had seen her brother tortured to death in front of her eyes, and then when the cretin that tortured her brother was done with him, he tortured her, but she survived.

When she arrived she had an eye that was bulging and which had to be removed immediately. After the surgery she became so depressed she stopped eating and laid in her bed, not responding to anyone or anything. Then a miracle happened. One of our foster cats climbed into the bed with her and started to groom her. Nuala started to purr and soon the two were best friends. Soon, Nuala was up and around eating and starting to enjoy life again. Tragically we then found out that the damage wasn't just to her eyes, but to her kidneys as well. They are so badly damaged that she is in kidney failure.

Nuala hasn't let all of what happened to her stop her from loving life. She greets everyone who comes to visit with a loud Siamese meow and a purr, rolling over for belly rubs that you must give before you are granted entry into the rest of the house. She spends hours laying in the sun, grooming the new fosters and showing them the ropes. We are blessed to have her as she is truly a miracle and a special girl.

She needs daily subcutaneous fluids to keep her kidneys functioning, and a special diet as well, but thanks to you and your kindness, she will continue to be our greeter and welcoming committee for a long time to come!
