LIBERTY
LIBERTY
Liberty was rescued from a local shelter right before July 4th. This darling and gentle girl was brought in pregnant and partially blind; dumped by an owner that "just didn't want her anymore." He told the shelter workers that she had gone partially blind when he had "accidentally" given her an overdose of a medication she was on for a kitty cold.
The shelter aborted her kittens and then put her up for adoption. Because she was going blind and it was the height of kitten season, no one even looked at her. She sat in the cage for weeks, scared and alone. The shelter called us on her last day, and once we met her we agreed to take her.
She has retinal degeneration, and we expect in the next few months what is left of her eye sight will be gone. The blood vessels that supply the eye are shrinking and dying. But that doesn't stop her one second; she loves laps and the warm sun, and most of all she loves you for giving her a second chance at life.
